Christopher Meckel, M.D.

Dr. Meckel is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and co-founder of Monterey Spine and Joint, where he is recognized as the hip and knee replacement specialist. He completed his undergraduate degree in medical anthropology at the University of California at Berkeley and earned his Master of Science degree in the biological sciences from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Dr. Meckel was a Dean’s Scholar at the University of Southern California (USC) School of Medicine and received his medical doctorate degree in 1996. He completed a general surgical internship and a residency in orthopedic surgery at the Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center.

Dr. Meckel is an associate Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and a member of the University of Southern California Graduate Orthopedic Society. He served on the Central Coast Arthritis Foundation Leadership Board, and now he serves on ARC’s Scientific Advisory Board.
